For most adults with suspected obstructive sleep apnea, yes, it’s the modern equivalent. The Wesper Sleep Test is a Type III home sleep apnea test. People with significant heart or lung disease, suspected central sleep apnea, or complex sleep disorders are generally better served by an in-lab polysomnogram. Our screening physician will tell you if that’s you and refund the order.
The Wesper Sleep Test is FDA-cleared. Across the published literature on Type III HSATs, sensitivity for moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea runs in the 80–90% range vs. in-lab polysomnogram. We record over one night, which is associated with more reliable AHI estimates than single-night testing.

One night of your normal sleep. The patch is the size of a quarter, stays on your chest, and goes on with a mild adhesive.
No. A physician on the Dorma network reviews your order for clinical appropriateness and writes the order. If a home sleep test isn’t appropriate, we refund the order.

It’s a flat all-in price for the device, shipping both ways, the screening physician’s order, and the board-certified sleep physician’s read of your study. The number is calibrated to be roughly in line with the cash price of an in-lab study cost-share, without insurance friction.
Not today. Dorma is cash-pay only at launch. We’re working on an insurance option for a future release.
Yes. The Wesper Sleep Test is a qualifying medical expense and you can pay with an HSA or FSA card at checkout.
If cost is a barrier, please reach out from your order confirmation page. We’re working on a small financial support program for patients without coverage. We don’t want a $189 price tag to be the reason someone with sleep apnea stays undiagnosed.
If the screening physician determines a home sleep test isn’t the right tool for your situation, we refund your order in full and point you toward the right kind of evaluation.
Most patients have a signed diagnosis report in 5–7 days after returning the device. You’ll see it in your Dorma patient portal as soon as the physician signs off.
You’ll get a written diagnosis with a clinician’s recommendation. Most patients with moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea are recommended CPAP therapy. We’ll help you find a treatment provider and, if appropriate, write the CPAP prescription you need.
You get a clear note from the physician saying so, with thoughts on what else might be worth investigating (other sleep disorders, lifestyle factors, daytime fatigue causes that aren’t respiratory). For some patients this is a meaningful piece of information. Ruling out apnea is itself a useful clinical result.

The patch records to its onboard memory while you sleep. Nothing streams from your home. When the device arrives at our processing facility, the data is uploaded to a HIPAA-compliant cloud environment for physician interpretation.
